Department of Electronic Science, Savitribai Phule Pune University and Research Park Foundation, SPPU signed an Memorandum of Understanding with IndiaFIRST® Robotics Innovation and Research LLP for establishing Centre of Excellence in Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) for the benefit of the students studying at the University as well as other colleges in Pune, Nashik and Ahmednagar.
It is the endeavor of the Dept. of Electronic Science and IndiaFIRST® Robotics Innovation and Research LLP to create an AGV with different payloads for various applications in the industry.
Currently the AGV’s available in the market are all imported and very costly. The industry needs to be provided with quality AGV which is economical and made in India.
Expert Engineers of IndiaFIRST® Robotics and University students are in the process of creating an AGV which will be deployed in various Industries and provide quality services. The Centre of Excellence in Automated Guided Vehicle has been established in the Department of Electronic Science under the guidance and support of Dr. Damayanti Gharpure and Dr. Arvind Shaligram, Professor Emeritus and CEO, Research Park Foundation, Savitribai Phule Pune University.
A state of the art Automated Guided Vehicle lab has been established by IndiaFIRST® Robotics with an investment of Rs. 10 Lacs at the Department of Electronic Science, Savitribai Phule Pune University. The Automated Guided Vehicle Lab consists of the state of the art equipments like:
- 3D Printers for Additive manufacturing
- Design and Development Software’s
- Lidar Sensors
- Micro-Controllers
- Various Sensors
- Mezhatronic Kits
- Motors and Actuators
- Metal sheets and cutting tools
- Wheels and Components
The M.Sc.(Electronic Science) students shall be given a platform to work on industrial projects and prepared for placement opportunities in various industries.
